About the Role
Cowie Mechanical is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanic to join our team. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
This is a full-time position based in Cambridge, Tasmania 7170.
What You'll Be Doing
* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vehicles and equipment
* Conducting routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake servicing, tyre fitting and repairs, timing belts, and major mechanical repairs
* Test driving vehicles to ensure repairs have been completed correctly
* Providing excellent customer service and advising customers on the condition of their vehicles
* Maintaining detailed records of work performed and parts used
* Adhering to all safety protocols and industry standards
What We’re Looking For
* Formal qualification in automotive mechanics (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
* Minimum 3 to 4 years of post-trade experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic preferred
* Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems, including electrical, engine, and transmission
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
* Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers
* Valid driver’s licence (essential)
* Own tools
