THE ROLE
The Principal Adviser position has a broad range of business management functions to support the Area's Directorate and program operations. The portfolios overseen by the Principal Adviser includes governance, planning, performance, communications, quality, complaints and risk management. We also provide business support for business continuity, project management and general workforce support.
The Principal Adviser supports the critical operations of the Area and provides high-level strategic advice to the Executive Director, Director Child Protection and Program Managers. The position supports the delivery of outputs for the Area, and regularly liaises with a wide range of client, community, staff and inter-governmental stakeholders.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
* Provide high-level specialist advice and support on a range of strategic policy and operational matters.
* Review, prepare, and present detailed, comprehensive reports, briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex policy and operational issues as well as preparing regular and ad hoc reports and correspondence.
* Pro-actively build and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders and identify areas and opportunities for improvement
