Job Description 6-month contract with possibility of extension | Canberra Location | $54.25 - $58.67 per hour plus 11% superannuation | Baseline Security Clearance Desired OVERVIEW Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Secretariat to join their team at the APS5 level. Within this role you will provide secretariat support, including agenda development, coordination of meeting papers, meeting logistics, and minute taking, and manages all membership aspects. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Developing and managing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engaging relevant departmental policy areas and external stakeholders regarding current and potential reviews. Coordinating a range of administrative tasks for the section, including records management and maintenance of SharePoint pages. Undertaking research and analysis, to inform the department and its working groups in their deliberations and preparation of recommendations to government. Preparing a variety of documentation including complex papers, presentations, and reports. Providing efficient and effective secretariat services, including meeting coordination, liaison with stakeholders, preparation of complex papers, attendance at meetings, and drafting of accurate minutes. Developing and contributing to parliamentary documents including ministerial correspondence, question time briefs, and ministerial briefs and submissions Coordinating and supporting stakeholder engagement activities including public consultation of reports. EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated coordination and/or secretariat skills with a focus on attention to detail. Experience working on policy issues and preparing evidence-based advice. Strong writing skills that demonstrate an ability to be clear, concise, and compelling. Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. Ability to use sound judgement and make decisions within defined parameters and seek guidance when required. Resilience to changing circumstances and ability to manage competing demands.
