About the Role
We are seeking an Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician to join our Adult Community Mental Health Team based in Tamworth. As a key member of our team, you will provide assessment, consultation, and clinical management to adults with varying mental health issues.

The successful applicant will be supported by the Community Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and Profession Lead of the Aboriginal MHS and SEWB workforce. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, utilizing evidence-based practice to support individuals in their mental health recovery journey.

You will have the opportunity to develop and maintain strong links with the community, supporting culturally competent programs and wider community development initiatives. Your role will involve acting as a resource and cultural consultant for the multidisciplinary team members.

Key Responsibilities:

* Providing high-quality person-centered care that is culturally competent and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal people and non-Aboriginal communities;

* Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support individuals in their mental health recovery journey;

* Developing and maintaining strong links with the community to support culturally competent programs and wider community development initiatives;

* Acting as a resource and cultural consultant for the multidisciplinary team members.

About You
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in working with people who have a variety of major mental health diagnoses. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

You will have a degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or Counselling, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Additionally, you must be eligible to drive in NSW and have the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
