**Your future role**
We have an exciting opportunity available for two new Maintenance Technicians to join or growing Parts and Overhauls team. Working within this close-knit team, you will support the maintenance, repairs and overhauls of Train and Tram Fleets from across Australia. These are permanent roles, based in Ballarat and working a 36 hour work across 4 days (Tuesday to Friday ideally, but negotiable).
We'll look to you for:
- Installing and assembling railway vehicle components using standard work procedures, hand & power tools.
- Performing basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car.
- Using lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components.
- Performing self-Inspection of railway car components in order to identify defects and ensure quality.
- Removing and replacing defective parts and components.
- Proficiently cross reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Working closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Organising work instruction documents, tools and railway car parts daily.

- A demonstrated ability to interpret technical diagrams and drawings.
- Experience in rail equipment/fleet maintenance will be highly regarded.
- A Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent.
