Cyber Security Specialist Role Overview

This role is centered around protecting the organization's information assets through a comprehensive security strategy.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant security standards and frameworks, including the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF).
* Providing security-related advice and consulting services to various stakeholders within the organization.
* Developing and implementing a robust cyber security program that addresses the evolving threat landscape.
* Maintaining awareness and communication between security and business functions to ensure seamless collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Undertaking security responsibility for all IACS and ICT-based environments and maintaining compliance with relevant security standards.
* Coordinating awareness and communication activities between security and business functions.
* Developing and seeking approval of a comprehensive security strategy that addresses the end-to-end lifecycle of information security operations, including evaluating the IT threat landscape, devising policy and controls to reduce risk, leading auditing and compliance initiatives.
* Playing a key role in managing both internal and external security providers to deliver secure services that meet the organization's growing and evolving requirements.
* Ensuring resilience against cyber-attacks through rapid recovery strategies, including processes covering crisis communication processes.
* Providing cyber security leadership and guidance within the organization.
* Overseeing the organization's cyber security program and ensuring compliance with cyber security policy, standards, regulations, and legislation.
* Reporting cyber security matters to executive and senior management, covering but not limited to, risk profiling, security risks, planned uplift activities, incidents, and cyber security investments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Extensive knowledge of cyber security principles, practices, and technologies.
* Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Experience in managing both internal and external security providers.
* Knowledge of relevant security standards, frameworks, and regulations, including the VPDSF.
* Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging cyber threats and technologies.
