Buloke Shire Council is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Team Leader Open Spaces to coordinate daily operations across parks, urban maintenance, waste services and community facilities. This hands-on leadership role supports high-quality service delivery while fostering a strong safety culture.
In This Role You Will
Lead and support staff across Urban, Parks, Waste and Environment operationsCoordinate maintenance of parks, playgrounds, drainage, public amenities, aerodromes, landfills and transfer stationsPlan and allocate staff, plant and equipment resourcesPromote and model safe work practices and ensure OH&S complianceIdentify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement control measuresMaintain accurate operational records and documentationRespond to customer requests and service needs in a timely mannerCoordinate temporary waste services for Council and community eventsProvide relief support to the Coordinator Open SpacesParticipate in Council's After-Hours Duty Officer roster
To Be Successful In This Role You Will
Hold a current Victorian Driver LicenceObtain a satisfactory National Police Records CheckDemonstrate knowledge of drainage, parks, footpaths, kerb and channel, and public area maintenanceHave experience inspecting playground equipment (or willingness to undertake training)Possess proven team leadership and employee management skillsShow a strong understanding of OH&S requirements and safe work practicesDemonstrate effective time management and priority-setting skillsExhibit excellent written and verbal communication skillsHave strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)Hold or are willing to obtain a Construction Induction Card
