Digital Transformation and Innovation Technical Lead
Temporary Full-Time – to June 2027 | QLGIA (Stream A) Level 6
Location: Yeppoon | Reports to: Coordinator Digital Transformation & Innovation
The Role
Council is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to play a critical role in delivering its Digital Transformation & Innovation Program.
This is a unique opportunity to provide hands‑on technical leadership across complex, enterprise‑wide digital initiatives that will shape how Council delivers services into the future.
Working closely with Project Managers, internal ICT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors, you will be the key authority ensuring technical workstreams are delivered to a high standard and aligned with Council's enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.

What You Will Be Doing
You will:
* Provide technical leadership across all Digital Transformation technical workstreams
* Lead solution architecture, technical design, configuration, and system integration
* Oversee data migration and ETL activities, ensuring data integrity and quality
* Ensure compliance with cloud governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements
* Act as the primary escalation point for technical risks, issues, and dependencies
* Collaborate with Project Managers to deliver technical milestones on time and within scope
* Guide testing strategies to ensure systems are fully tested and operationally ready
* Provide technical oversight of vendor and third‑party deliverables
* Report on technical progress, risks, and outcomes to project governance forums
What You Will Bring
You are a highly capable technical specialist with a strong background in enterprise systems and digital transformation delivery, and the ability to lead without formal line authority.
Here is what we are looking for:
* Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery for complex digital transformation or enterprise system implementations
* Strong experience in:
o Cloud‑based and hybrid environments
o Enterprise system integration
o Data migration and ETL processes
o Solution and technical architecture
* Proven experience working with vendors and managing third‑party technical deliverables
* Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders
* Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills
* A current "C" Class Driver's Licence.
