Great Adventures operates world-class reef and island experiences on the Great Barrier Reef. We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Stores & Maintenance Assistant to support our Engineering team with day-to-day workshop operations, purchasing and equipment checks.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping things organised, and wants to support a busy engineering environment.
About the role
Working closely with our Engineering team, you will assist with the smooth operation of the workshop and stores area. Your focus will be on stock control, purchasing support, routine checks, and general workshop upkeep to ensure our engineers have what they need to keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
This position involves regular manual work including lifting and carrying parts and equipment, moving stock, standing and working on your feet for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with purchasing parts, consumables and equipment to support maintenance and repairs
* Receive, unpack and record delivered items
* Maintain accurate records of purchases and stock in spreadsheets
* Stock and organise oils, filters and general workshop consumables
* Carry out routine monthly checks on equipment (e.g. trailer lights and basic safety items)
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop, including emptying bins and general housekeeping
* Support the Engineering team with general stores and maintenance-related tasks as required
Essential Requirements
* Drivers licence
* White Card
About You
* Comfortable with physically demanding, hands-on work in a trade or workshop environment
* Reliable, organised and willing to get hands-on
* Basic computer skills, including use of spreadsheets
* Ability to follow procedures and complete routine checks accurately
* Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
* Previous experience in a stores, maintenance, workshop, or trade support role is desirable but not essential
