Job Title

The role of an Employment Support Officer is a pivotal one, as it involves providing individualized support to people with disabilities in the workplace.

This includes those who are currently employed, those who have recently secured a job, and those whose employment may be at risk due to the impact of their disability.

The goal is to help individuals develop the skills, confidence, and workplace strategies needed to succeed.

This support can take many forms, including tailored on-the-job assistance for participants undertaking Work Experience Placements, Work Trials, or transitioning into new roles.

As an Employment Support Officer, you will be guided by the principles of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), focusing on participant choice and control, community inclusion, and building sustainable employment pathways.

* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individualized support to customers based on their Job Plan, ensuring that their needs for support such as transport and skills training are met.
* Identify priority customers and implement agreed responsibilities according to the Job Plan to maintain their employment.
* Update Job Plans and maintain customer's documentation and records to the required standard.
* Liaise with employers, customer's families, and co-workers to maintain satisfactory job requirements.
* Actively contribute to ensuring consistency and excellence in all services, including achievement of employment goals, program success, and positive working relationships.


Requirements

* A relevant post-secondary or tertiary qualification.
* Experience providing direct support and assistance to people, in disability or government-funded employment services.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tailor communication styles to audience.
* High level of priority management and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to demonstrate understanding of the National Standards for Disability Services, the philosophy of Community Inclusion, and the practice of actively supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals.
* Current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, Current Driver's Licence, NDIS Workers Orientation Module, NDIS Worker Screening check, and COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
