The Role
The Senior Bookkeeper is an integral part of our head office team and plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the business by performing all bookkeeping duties, managing payroll & compliance, HR and insurance management.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date financial records, including transactions, invoices, and payments; conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable; ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations, and company policies.
* Process and monitor vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations; issue customer invoices accurately and promptly, and follow up on outstanding payments; handle inquiries and resolve discrepancies related to accounts payable and receivable; manage employee and vendor reimbursements and claims.
* Process payroll of all staff, nationally, according to the established cycles for full/part time, seasonal and casual staff; maintain correct payrates and ATO compliance, including allowance application and superannuation contributions.
* Support the COO and external accountant to ensure compliance with taxation, regulatory, and reporting requirements; lead the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
* Provide support to the business in ad‐hoc tasks and projects as required; continuously seek process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial and business operations, including automation, education, policy or process development.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Proven experience in a similar role, with demonstrated familiarity with financial accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
* Proficiency in accounting systems and software (XERO), and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage, inform, educate and support suppliers, customers, staff and managers alike.
* Broad and flexible interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and geographically dispersed environment.
* Familiarity with the agricultural industry or related sectors is a plus.
Candidate Requisites
* Currently living in Western Australia with a pre‐existing right to work.
* Proven user competence with XERO.
* Availability to work exclusively on‐site.
