Senior Social Worker – AHP3 (Temporary/Full‐Time)
Location: Lyell McEwin Hospital – SALISBURY DOWNS ****, HILLCREST ****, ELIZABETH VALE SA ****
Salary: $112,139 – $120,284 p.a. plus superannuation and salary sacrifice benefits.
About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network's (NALHN) Children & Families Service and Allied Health Unit, you will bring clinical expertise and professional judgement to complex child and family presentations—making a tangible difference at a critical point in people's lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced social work assessment, intervention, and case coordination for children and families with complex developmental and/or psychosocial needs across the northern Adelaide metro area.
- Offer secondary consultation and clinical guidance to multidisciplinary team members, contributing to integrated care pathways in a primary health setting.
- Engage with child protection frameworks, mandatory reporting obligations, and relevant legislative requirements with confidence and accuracy.
- Actively participate in quality improvement, supervision, and professional practice development within NALHN's social work community.
Qualifications & Skills
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills enabling problem‐solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and engagement in difficult conversations while maintaining relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and resilience within a stressful and complex environment.
Requirements
- Appointment subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check, including DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (National Police Certificate).
- Immunisation risk category A (direct contact with blood or body substances).
