About the role
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, some of your duties for the role will include:
* Provide cultural support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families
* Facilitate communication between healthcare teams and community members
* Deliver cultural awareness education to clinical and administrative staff
* Develop and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal organisations and community groups
* Support discharge planning and care coordination for Aboriginal patients
About you
* Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities
* Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people, health workers and other organisations
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community issues
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience in advocacy or community liaison roles preferred
