Chandler Macleod is currently seeking qualified welders and boilermakers with experience in metal fabrication, structural welding, or boiler maintenance to join the team at Baiada's Country Road Hatchery in Tamworth.
* $45.11 per hour + weekend penalties & allowances
* Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts, rotating between 2:30 AM - 9 AM
* Opportunity for permanency following successful probation
About the role
As a Maintenance Employee, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing plant machinery to support smooth, safe, and efficient operations. Key responsibilities include:
* Performing repairs and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery
* Ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in accordance with Baiada's standards and systems
* Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, and other supervisors and leading hands
* Carrying out maintenance work in line with Baiada's operational and compliance requirements
About You
We are seeking a proactive, trade-qualified professional with a hands-on approach and strong teamwork ethic. To succeed in this role, you will have:
* A relevant trade qualification (e.g. Fitter and Turner, Boilermaker, Welder) along with experience working in a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the intensive food processing industry
* Strong decision-making skills, particularly under pressure
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
* A desire for long-term career development
* Full Australian working rights (citizenship or permanent residency)
You'll also bring a mechanical mindset, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to work across rotating shifts—including weekends and public holidays.
