About the Role Join a dynamic team working on a pioneering magnesium development project in Australia.
This role focuses on the engineering and optimisation of materials handling systems across the project's lifecycle — from concept design through to construction and commissioning.As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing solutions that ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable transport, storage, and processing of raw and refined materials.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and integrate mechanical systems that support production scale-up and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Design and specify mechanical equipment for bulk materials handling, including conveyors, feeders, crushers, hoppers, chutes, and transfer systems.
Collaborate with process, structural, and electrical engineers to develop integrated design packages.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and mechanical calculations.
Develop and review technical drawings, scopes of work, and equipment specifications.
Provide input into procurement, vendor selection, and quality assurance processes.
Support construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of mechanical systems.
About You Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in heavy industry or mining, with a strong focus on materials handling systems.
Demonstrated experience in delivering mechanical designs across the project lifecycle.
Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and mechanical design codes.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and engineering tools.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with a practical, solution-focused mindset.
