Professional Counsellor
Centacare is seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to provide high-quality support services to individuals, couples, children, and families across the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and brief intervention services.
* Facilitate therapeutic and psycho-educational groups.
* Manage intake and assessment processes.
* Maintain high standards of record keeping, data collection, and reporting.
* Contribute to continuous improvement, planning, and evaluation activities.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure holistic care.
Key Selection Criteria:
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences.
* Eligibility for professional membership with APS, AASW or similar.
* Experience in contemporary counselling techniques (e.g., solution-focused, trauma-informed, family systems).
* Strong understanding of Domestic & Family Violence, Child Protection, and Family Law.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to working within the ethos of the Catholic Church and Centacare's values.
* Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency with data and case management systems.
Additional Requirements:
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain.
* Australian Work Rights and Federal Police Check (or ability to obtain).
