The Opportunity
This role will be based at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives that ensure the successful execution of rotary wing operations, maintenance, engineering and product support across BDA
- Provide oversight to the growth and management of a team on site and remotely to execute engineering, maintenance, product support and governance of rotary wing assets.
- Operate as a member of the BDA HATS Leadership Team to integrate with businesses and other functional support as required to enable business outcomes
- Build trust with stakeholders. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports to foster a supportive environment for effective project execution.
- Work closely with the continuous improvement and internal governance teams to support change requirements and impacts resulting from their projects and initiatives
- Cost account management and overall execution lead for all site activities
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Tertiary education in project management, business, engineering, maintenance or a related field with relevant industry experience
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and achieve change through collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to provide strategic direction to multi-disciplinary teams to deliver business outcomes within defined time-frames
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and customers
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management principles and associated governance frameworks to support program execution
Additionally, experience on Rotary Wing Platforms, and with the Army Aviation Customer are desirable.
