Life‐Saving Appliance Service Technician (Mechanic)

This is a full‐time, permanent position within the Mining, Resources & Energy & Oil & Gas – Engineering & Maintenance sector.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance, repairs and testing of various types of safety equipment, Life‐Saving Appliances (LSA) and associated equipment such as lifeboats, including diesel engines and transmissions, winches, breathing apparatus, HP compressors, life‐jackets and other safety equipment.
Key Skills & Experience
* Excellent attitude towards health and safety.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* Willingness to work away from home (sometimes interstate or overseas) at short notice.
* Mechanical background with trade qualifications (e.g., Diesel Fitter/Mechanic or Maintenance Fitter).
* Previous experience in Marine, Maritime, Offshore Oil & Gas industry, Mines, or Major Hazard facilities is advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Computer literate – report writing upon job completion required.
* Full Australian driver's licence.
* MSIC card and BOSIET preferred (not essential).
* Must be able to pass an offshore medical (UKOOA).
