The Role

We are seeking multiple experienced Senior Project Managers to join our Asset Delivery and Care Business Unit. These pivotal roles are key to strengthen our project leadership capability and ensuring the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and asset programs that make a real impact. Senior Project Managers are responsible for providing leadership, mentoring and technical support to their team's project managers.

Opportunities are currently across teams delivering a diverse portfolio of water infrastructure projects. This includes upgrade works at our sewage and recycled water treatment plants, expansion of our water and sewer networks and supporting the delivery of Victoria's Big Build.

Senior Project Manager (Treatment Plant Programs)

Works collaboratively to support delivery of multi-disciplinary projects across YVW's existing 9 sewage treatment and 3 recycled water treatment plants. Projects include process unit upgrades, refurbishment and expansion works. The Senior Project Manager contributes to the successful delivery of the Treatment Plant Improvement Program by supporting positive relationships and robust processes with Delivery Partners, internal teams and external stakeholders.

Senior Project Manager (Authority Works)

Works collaboratively to support delivery of water and sewer asset upgrades and relocations required to support other authorities. The Authority Works Team interface with Melbourne's big build projects and councils including working across several work packages with North East Link Program (NELP) and the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA). The Senior Project Manager maintains firm and respectful relationships across these projects with key stakeholders to ensure YVW's operational and commercial interests are protected, and the project proceeds to deliver best for community outcomes.

Senior Project Manager (Major Projects)

Works collaboratively to support delivery of large diameter tunnelled pipelines, large tank structures and associated assets. The Senior Project Manager provides specialist strategic, technical, and practice leadership to Project Managers and drives best practice project management across the broader Major Projects Division. Experience in developing and maintaining trusting and respectful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, across various levels of the authority, enables the Senior Project Manager to guide, advise and influence planning, delivery and handover phases of major projects that provide valued outcomes for YVW.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Provide specialist guidance to Project Managers on planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover aspects to ensure successful project integration and interface outcomes
* Provide technical support to the team including review of key documents such as drawings, specification, tender packages, tender evaluation and contract documentation
* Apply technical and commercial expertise to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas across a range of projects.
* Develop project delivery strategies in conjunction with Project Managers and various teams within Yarra Valley Water to ensure best for community outcomes on projects
* Champion good project governance in accordance with Yarra Valley Water's Enterprise Delivery Framework, including the preparation of high-quality Business Cases, Project Management Plans, RAID registers and other key project management documents
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and delivery partners. Support the sustainable and efficient delivery of high-quality assets through effective engagement with consultants and contractors and promote best-practice stakeholder and community engagement.

What we're Looking for

* Advanced expertise in project management practices, including cost, risk and schedule management
* Expertise in contract management including commercial acumen, contract superintendency and Construct and Design and Construct contract delivery
* Proven ability to coach, develop, and lead professionals
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management, customers, consultants, contractors, regulators, and committees
* Solid knowledge of Quality Assurance, OH&S, and Environmental principles, with proven experience applying these within contract and project management environments
* Demonstrated experience in project delivery of water and sewerage networks and / or sewage and recycled water treatment plants, across design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases
* Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, providing clear guidance to support sound decision-making and equitable outcomes
* Resilience and adaptability in complex environments, with a focus on delivering improved customer experiences, high-quality assets, and value for money
* Valid Victorian Driver's License
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Process)
