We’re looking for a Speech Therapist who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Kiribati.You will be working alongside local staff to support students with communication issues.To be considered for this role, you’ll need relevant qualifications in Speech Therapy and at least 3 years of experience.As a volunteer, you will support the development of tools and resources to help staff care for students with communication skills.About the Partner OrganisationThe Kiribati School and Centre for Children with Special Needs (KSCCSN Inc) is a registered Incorporated Society comprising staff, parents, grandparents, and families whose children have disabilities. The school has over 300 students, many affected by 24 different types of disabilities. Their vision is for children with disabilities in Kiribati to achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and accessible learning environment, aligned with the international commitment to “education for all”. Their mission is to provide the best quality education possible for children with disabilities, in partnership with supportive organizations within and outside Kiribati.The role of the volunteer Speech Therapist is crucial in supporting students with autism, cerebral palsy, and non-verbal students. Currently, there are no qualified or trained speech therapists in Kiribati.
