We are looking for a Communications Advisor to take on a contract role with a government department in Gold Coast. Initial term of contract is 6 months with the option of 2 x 12 month extensions. In this role, you will provide strategic community and stakeholder management services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs and stakeholder relationship management.
**Accountabilities include**:
- Provide communication advice and support to the Project Directors, Communications Leads, managers and other staff in the areas of media and issues management, crisis communications, risk assessment and reporting, community engagement and communication strategies
- Expert accountability for crisis and reputation management strategies
- Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement activities for infrastructure projects in the region
- Provide training, advice and support to project staff and consultants
- Develop and implement communication strategies, activities, materials, procedures and policies which assist the project to achieve its strategic objectives.
- Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
