Secondary Teacher - Humanities/English
We are seeking four full-time teachers to join our team in Term 4. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people, and/or teachers with experience working with First Nations families and communities are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with primary schools to develop collaborative transition plans for Year 6 students moving to Year 7, focusing on voice, identity, strengths, interests, and questions from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families.
* Work with staff responsible for transition planning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Year 7 to 8 to enhance existing practices, in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families.
This is a pilot program, and monitoring progress and impact measures will be an integral part of this role.
Professional Support:
* Reporting directly to the Principal or designated authority.
* Supported by the Partnerships and Programs team in the Darling Downs South West Region.
Requirements:
* Relevant teaching qualification.
* Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a teacher in Queensland.
* Valid Australian Visa with work rights.
