What you will be Doing
We are seeking an experienced Fitter / Machinist to join a busy workshop team. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and manufacture of hydraulic cylinder components and related equipment, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with engineering specifications.
Duties include:
* operating manual lathes and milling machines to manufacture and repair components
* conducting fitting, assembly and maintenance of hydraulic cylinders and associated equipment
* performing thread cutting and machining to specification
* reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
* carrying out basic welding and fabrication tasks as required
* inspecting components for quality and accuracy
* maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
* assisting with general workshop duties and material handling as required
What you will need
* Trade qualification as a Fitter, Machinist or similar mechanical trade (essential)
* Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (essential)
* Experience with thread cutting and general machining practices
* Strong commitment to workplace safety
* Reliable attitude and strong work ethic
