Responsibilities
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups. Your expertise will focus on improving speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing functions. Key responsibilities include:
1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized assessments, clinical observations, and diagnostic tools to identify communication challenges and determine severity, leading to accurate diagnoses.
2. Treatment Planning and Intervention: Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals, utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
3. Therapeutic Interventions: Implement various therapy techniques such as articulation drills, language exercises, voice therapy, fluency strategies, and management protocols, providing personalized feedback and instruction.
4. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): Assess and implement AAC systems to support individuals with severe communication impairments, collaborating with families and caregivers for optimal customization.
5. Dysphagia Management: Evaluate and treat swallowing disorders through clinical assessments, exercises, diet modifications, and rehabilitation strategies to ensure safe and effective swallowing.
Qualifications
* Master’s Degree in an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
* Current license/certification in the state of practice
