Pastry Chef Job Description
As a skilled Commis Pastry Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality pastry dishes to our discerning guests. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of all pastry items, from delicate desserts to hearty breakfast treats.
* You will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
* You will work effectively as part of a team to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef.
* Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
* Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served.
* Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served.
* Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing.
* Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
* Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
* Prepare and cook food.
* Set-up, clean and break down work station.
* Preparation and baking of all in house cakes, breads & pastries.
