About the Role
Ingham Institute Macarthur is a brand-new research facility for Ingham Institute and represents one of the most significant investments in preventative health, translational research and community‐centred innovation in Greater Western Sydney. Completed in September 2025, it is a partnership between Health Administration Corporation, Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research, Western Sydney University, South Western Sydney Local Health District, and University of New South Wales (UNSW). This facility brings together clinical care, research, education, industry and community in a single integrated precinct designed to directly address the region's highest disease burdens and health inequities.
The position is an operational leader role that will shape and manage the brand‐new clinical research environment. As the most senior professional staff member on‐site, the Research Operations Manager will provide expert operational leadership, governance oversight and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with the Institute's executive team and central services, you will ensure the site is well‐positioned to enable high‐quality, compliant clinical research, support strategic partnerships and drive sustainable growth across the local research ecosystem. This is a predominantly non‐laboratory role, focusing on site operations, clinical research activation and partnership development, with light‐touch oversight of a small research assessment zone.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in clinical research administration, program management or operations within a clinical research, healthcare or higher education environment.
* Demonstrated ability to establish, embed or manage operational functions in new or evolving settings.
* Experience supporting clinical research programmes with a sound understanding of the research lifecycle, including ethics, governance, compliance, grants and reporting.
* Knowledge of governance, risk and compliance requirements within research and/or clinical contexts.
* Proven ability to work effectively in complex, multi‐stakeholder environments.
* Highly organised with strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
* High level of professionalism, discretion, initiative, resilience and independent problem‐solving capability.
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
* Collaborative, values‐aligned team player with a positive, "can‐do" attitude and strong attention to detail.
* Experience working in a not‐for‐profit organisation.
