We are seeking a full time qualified and experienced Vehicle Painter to join our busy smash repair workshop. The Vehicle Painter will be responsible for preparing and refinishing damaged vehicles that have been repaired following collisions. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to restoring vehicles to manufacturer standards. Key Responsibilities: Inspect repaired vehicle panels and surfaces to assess painting requirements. Perform surface preparation, including sanding, masking, priming, and filling as needed. Mix and apply automotive paint to match original colours using computerised colour-matching systems. Spray primer, base coat, and clear coat to achieve factory-quality finishes. Conduct final refinishing work such as polishing, buffing, and de-nibbing. Ensure all paintwork complies with industry standards, insurance requirements, and OEM specifications. Maintain spray booths, mixing rooms, and equipment to a clean and operational standard. Follow all workshop WHS procedures, including safe handling of hazardous chemicals and paint materials. Work closely with panel beaters and estimators to ensure timely repair completion. Qualifications: Certificate III in related area Minimum 1 year work experience Sound understanding of automotive paint systems, including water-based and solvent-based products. Strong ability to colour match and blend paint for seamless repairs. Skilled in the use of HVLP spray guns, sanding machines, and paint booth operations. High level of attention to detail and quality assurance. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced workshop. Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
