Role Specification
A private family group with a diversified real estate portfolio is seeking to appoint a Treasurer within its group level Corporate Finance function. The role will be responsible for the management of all treasury-related activities across the business, including liquidity, risk and balance sheet management, as well as broader strategic debt structuring, bank relationship management and treasury operations. The role will be responsible for two key business lines; a housing and land development business and an asset management business with a portfolio of retail and shopping centre assets.
The role will be responsible for day-to-day treasury tasks, including cash management, monitoring debt facilities, covenant management and supporting the ongoing management of banking relationships. Additionally, the role will focus on forward planning for the liquidity profile of the business, including the development and execution of capital financing strategies. This will involve working closely with senior management to align funding structures with the development pipeline and the ongoing management of the asset base. The business is in growth mode, working on some substantial projects that will involve complex capital and debt structuring and solutions. The team are seeking a candidate who can assist in expanding the horizon on treasury related strategy.
Candidate Profile
This opportunity will suit candidates currently working in treasury roles within real estate-related businesses, private capital firms or family offices. The client will also consider individuals from real estate financing roles within banks, real estate debt advisory teams, treasury or capital markets consulting groups. The candidate must have experience in the real estate sector, with ideally some exposure to housing, land developments and/or retail assets.
Candidates should demonstrate a proactive and solutions-oriented approach, with an interest in balance sheet strategy and capital structure, without being above the broader treasury tasks. This is a senior appointment within the Finance division of this firm and the expectation is that the candidate is able to interact at a senior management level with both internal and external stakeholders. It is expected the candidate will come with a minimum of ten years professional relevant work experience. The candidate will be supported by pre-existing members of the team for broader treasury tasks.
