Lead Rail Expert
A leading role is available for a seasoned rail expert to spearhead the development and growth of a high-performing rolling stock capability within NSW/ACT.
* The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in advising government and private operators on fleet procurement, evaluation, and technical due diligence.
* This key leadership position involves shaping future fleet strategies, operational concepts and maintenance philosophies.
* Key responsibilities include driving innovation across decarbonisation, digital systems integration and enhanced performance monitoring.
* The successful candidate will also be responsible for guiding the introduction, testing, and commissioning of new and modified rolling stock.
* Influencing upstream strategic decisions through independent, evidence-based technical advice is also crucial to this role.
The ideal candidate will bring:
* A leadership mindset – with the ability and appetite to grow, mentor and shape a new capability in building a team.
* Extensive rolling stock expertise across passenger, freight or heavy haul environments.
* Deep knowledge of train design, fleet procurement, asset lifecycle management, and/or certification.
* Demonstrated capability in providing advisory-level technical leadership on complex rail projects.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients and stakeholders.
* Experience guiding projects from opportunity pursuit through to delivery.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
