Functional Business Manager - Finance
The Finance Functional Business Manager represents CESL's financial processes within the Portico Program, supporting the design of future finance systems that are robust, transparent and fit for a complex education environment. This role ensures that budgeting, financial management, reporting and compliance requirements are clearly articulated and embedded into the future state solution. The Finance Functional Business Manager works closely with program partners to ensure financial processes support sound decision‐making, accountability and long‐term sustainability for CESL and its schools.
* Title: Functional Business Manager - Finance
* Salary per year: $120,000 - $140,000 - excluding superannuation (dependent upon experience)
* FTE: 0.8 – 1.0 FTE
* Employment Status: Fixed Term – 24 months
* Location: Bendigo
* Other Requirements: Employee Working with Children Check, National Police Check (or valid VIT) Drivers License
About You
* Deep operational knowledge of Finance practices, systems and industrial/legislative compliance
* Experience contributing to ERP implementations, large‐scale system transformations or complex process redesign
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non‐technical audiences
* The ability to balance strategic intent with practical delivery realities
* Confidence operating in complex, fast‐moving program environments
* Experience within education, government or other complex organisations will be highly regarded.

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across 51 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese.
