Your new role
As a Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer, you will lead, implement, and deliver FOI processes to ensure compliance with relevant acts and legislation. You will manage and process FOI requests, liaise with internal stakeholders, and conduct third-party consultations. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of systems and processes that support legislative compliance and build organisational awareness of FOI obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing and determining FOI requests within statutory timeframes
* Coordinating internal and external reviews, including liaison with the Ombudsman and Tribunal
* Providing high-level advice on FOI obligations and processes
* Maintaining FOI records and reporting requirements
* Supporting proactive disclosure initiatives and staff training
What you'll need to succeed
* Previous experience in Freedom of Information roles
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to review complex information and apply legislation logically
* Experience in dealing diplomatically with stakeholders
* Capacity to work independently and manage competing priorities
What you'll get in return
An initial 3-month temporary engagement within State Government with potential for extension, a competitive hourly rate of $62 + Super, along with the ability to utilise your skills to assist the South Australian population. Once settled into the role, you may also have flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.
