The Role
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, Facilities Coordinator is a crucial role focused on maintaining the safety, functionality, and operational readiness of the statewide facilities.
The Responsibilities
* Establish a broad database of trades available for urgent and larger repair projects
* Understanding of trades required for breakdowns and repair as necessary
* Organise quick turnaround quotes for required work within property portfolio
* Efficiently attend to insurance claims and process involved
* Establish a preventative maintenance program across all properties
* Supervise security systems throughout property portfolio
* Be available for roster on security call outs
* Proactively manage all Health & Safety issues for the sites.
* Investigate damage and safety concerns and make recommendations for repairs to mitigate risk.
* Meet WHS obligations in ensuring a safe workspace, adhere to policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management for colleagues, contractors and self
* Working as part of a flexible team, provide additional support as necessary
The Candidate
* A proactive, solution-focused professional who thrives on technical problem-solving and variety.
* Experience in building maintenance and facilities management practices
* Understanding of safe work practices and OH&S procedures
* Competent in using a variety of tools and equipment
* A qualification or trade in a property/technical/facilities field would be desirable
* White Card holder - preferred
* Reliable, with a strong work ethic and initiative to get things done
* Able to be flexible with hours of work, attend call outs when required
* A full and unrestricted driver's licence
* Uses sound judgement and interpersonal skills to deal with conflict, negotiate and influence outcomes
* Good communication skills
