Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator Role
We are seeking a skilled Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator to empower farmers and landholders in adopting climate-smart practices.
* The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, supported by a degree or demonstrated experience in agriculture, environmental science or agribusiness.
* They must be able to engage with external stakeholders such as farmers, agricultural industry bodies, researchers, government, community groups and volunteers.
* The selected person should have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Advanced written communication skills and experience with preparing material for newsletters, social media and other communication platforms are also required.
* Ability to work autonomously, manage own time and priorities is essential.
* A current driver's license and ability to travel to rural and remote locations with occasional overnight stays are necessary.
* Australian Residency or eligibility to legally work in Australia is mandatory.
The position involves engaging and informing farmers, community groups and industries about climate-smart sustainable agriculture practices. It also includes connecting them with trusted advisors to achieve climate-smart sustainable outcomes. The selected person will develop understanding and share information on new emerging carbon and biodiversity markets. They will support the delivery of projects including assisting with events, communication activities and engaging with First Nations peoples and organisations.
