What To Expect
Tesla is seeking experienced electrical technicians to maintain and service utility scale battery sites, primarily working on the Tesla Megapack battery storage product.
In this role, you will join the technician team supporting a battery storage site located in Plumpton, to service, troubleshoot, or upgrade medium to high voltage equipment.
Applicants should be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude, who see this as an opportunity to begin building a career with Tesla in the renewable energy infrastructure sector. You will be part of a high performing and tight-knit team on site.
Please note this position will primarily be based in Plumpton, however occasional travel to support other sites may be required.
What You'll Do
1. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering team
2. Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug, rework and repair
3. Perform tasks requiring a high level of skill and patience
4. Work safely with Medium and High Voltage environments
5. Operate hand tools, power tools, and LV/MV/HV test equipment for diagnosis and troubleshooting
6. Develop and follow best practices for maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipment
7. Maintain communication within the Tesla Energy service organization; provide daily updates
8. Support other sites and roles as needed, possibly outside the country
9. Perform other duties as assigned to support growth and diversity
10. Ensure operations & maintenance requirements are met across Powerpack and Megapack Utility sites
What You'll Bring
1. Certified Electrician (Cert III (3)+ in Electrical/Electro Technology)
2. Minimum 5 years' experience, including at least 3 years in the Utility sector (Solar/Wind preferred)
3. Up-to-date Electrical Registration/License
4. HV switching certification and experience
5. SCADA experience is a plus
6. Ability to work from detailed documentation and verbal/written instructions
7. Strong computer skills and ability to use OEM software
8. Good communication skills for a mobile office setting
9. Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
10. Reliable, proactive, committed, and quality-focused
11. Willing to work outdoors and on unusual hours
12. Valid driver's license
13. Experience with hand and power tools, test equipment
14. Ability to establish cooperative relationships and handle multiple priorities
15. Maintain professional integrity and appearance
