Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (up to 12 months)
Position Classification: Scientific Officer
Remuneration: $38.52 - $54.94 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)
Location: Westmead Hospital

Sydney Cell and Gene Therapy (SCGT) is a world-class, TGA-licensed clinical manufacturing facility at Westmead Hospital, part of Western Sydney Local Health District. SCGT produces advanced cellular therapies for use in multiple clinical trials and plays a critical role in the future of personalised medicine in NSW.

What you'll be doing
This is a rare opportunity to build a specialist career in cell therapy manufacturing. You will produce cell-based therapeutic products in a GMP cleanroom environment, supporting clinical trials and maintaining the quality and compliance standards that underpin patient safety.
In this role you will:
* Perform aseptic cell therapy manufacturing in a GMP cleanroom environment to TGA regulatory requirements
* Maintain facility operations including environmental monitoring, equipment maintenance and line clearance activities
* Ensure accurate documentation and participate in quality management activities and internal and external audits
* Coordinate product transport to clinical sites and manage inventory and stock control systems
* Contribute to technology transfer and process development for new cellular therapy projects

How to Apply

Essential Criteria:
* Qualification: Science degree in relevant field.

Selection Criteria:

* Experience in laboratory techniques relevant to cell therapy, including aseptic processing, cell culture, and/or handling of biological materials.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements for the manufacture of cell therapies.
* Strong attention to detail with proven ability to follow complex technical procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
* Problem-solving capabilities to troubleshoot technical issues in manufacturing and process development.
* Ability to participate in and out-of-hours roster to attend to equipment and manufacturing demands as required.
* Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
