Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy.
Venues NSW takes an intergrated approach to our stadia and entertainment centres by developing partnerships with sporting codes, the entertainment and event industry, audiences, local businesses, NSW Government agencies and community groups. Our network throughout NSW allows us to combine internal resources and harness a vast employee skillset all of which helps us deliver key projects and secure outstanding content.
Responsibilities
The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is one of Australia's most iconic sporting and entertainment venues, rich in history and renowned for its world-class playing surfaces and Venues NSW is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Curator to play a leading role in the ongoing excellence of turf and wicket presentation at the SCG.
In this pivotal role, you will help lead a high-performing grounds team responsible for delivering world-class sports turf management at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). You will oversee the presentation and preparation of elite-level playing fields and cricket wickets, ensuring they meet the highest national and international standards. This role requires a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, working collaboratively across all levels of Venues NSW, with sports partners, external contractors, and media. You will contribute to strategic planning, innovation in turf management practices, and the professional development of team members, all while ensuring the SCG maintains its reputation as one of Australia's premier sporting venues.
Qualifications
You are an experienced turf management professional with a passion for excellence in sports surface preparation and maintenance. With a proven track record in leading teams, you bring strong technical expertise in turf and wicket management, along with the ability to implement innovative practices and technologies. You excel in stakeholder engagement, have a clear understanding of budget and resource management, and are committed to fostering a safe, high-performance working environment. Your leadership inspires those around you, and you are driven by the challenge of delivering top-tier surfaces for some of the world's most prestigious sporting events.
