Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for registration in New South Wales for the above position within the Department of Womens Children and Families, Central Coast Local Health District CCLHD.
In addition to the normal Senior Medical Practitioner position description for the relevant clinical specialty, the incumbent will work in the capacity of the Clinical Director role for a three year term. The Clinical Director works in partnership with the Operational Midwife Nurse Manager/District Director of Service and the District Clinical/ District Director in order to ensure that the Directorate provides high quality medical and health care services with safe, efficient and effective use of allocated resources, in line with the organisational objectives and the District's Annual Priorities.
Applicants should be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and / or other equivalent specialist recognition. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State Award).
Central Coast is comprised of the twin areas of Gosford and Wyong, positioned between Sydney and Newcastle, which are collectively expected to grow from the current approximate 300,000 to 450,000 population before 2030. The Local Health District has strong connections with both Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle.

- Medical Practitioner registered or able to be registered in Australia, inclusive of an unrestricted or 19AB exempted provider number.
- Recognised specialist qualifications, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and / or other equivalent specialist recognition.
- Extensive and diverse experience in specialist Women, Children and families practice in a comprehensive service setting with the ability to lead clinical teams, provide leadership and effectively manage staff.
- Commitment to clinical governance, continuous improvement and quality initiatives and improved patient outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to forge partnerships with colleagues and develop networks, both internal and external to the Organisation.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and ability to negotiate and manage conflict.
- Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills including data analysis.
- Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align to the NSW CORE Values and CCLHD Values and Behaviours charter.
