About The Role
The purpose of this very rewarding role is to provide counselling, support and specialist group programmes to individuals and families through collaborative practices that are:
Trauma informedEvidence BasedPsycho-educational
Supporting clients from all walks of life to overcome difficulties, build resilience, to enhance their quality of life and relationships. Being skilled in working with families experiencing domestic violence with the willingness to work with people who have experienced and those who use violence as this is a high percentage of our core business
Please note:Some after-hours work may be required to meet client needs.

About You
The successful applicant will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in relevant human services (e.g. Psychology, Counselling) or equivalent demonstrated experienceClinical membership of relevant professional body (e.g. PACFA - Psychotherapy and Counsellors Association of Australia)Experience working with men and facilitating Men’s Behaviour Change ProgramsDemonstrated experience & skills in counselling and group workExperience in providing counselling in an agency settingDemonstrated experience & skills in individual and group settings with people experiencing and/or using Domestic Family Violence (leading DV programs/groups)Experience in trauma informed practiceDemonstrated experience relating to diverse groups, e.g. Government departments & other agenciesDemonstrate an understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and promote the organisation’s values through interactions at workDemonstrated understanding of inclusive, respectful practice when working with First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTIA+ and people with disabilitiesDemonstrated commitment to social justice outcomes in counselling & group workExcellent written & oral communication skillsWorking with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)Willing to undergo a Police CheckCurrent Drivers’ License
