King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. After a significant expansion, KOTH will feature a 7.5 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant, providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the Senior Open Pit Mine Surveyor, the Open Pit Mine Surveyor will play a key role in maintaining the precision and accuracy of our open pit mining operations. Working closely with the Senior Surveyor, you will deliver reliable spatial data and site measurements that support daily mining activities.
The position will be offered on a 14:14 roster FIFO from Perth or surrounding areas.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
* Utilise appropriate equipment and survey best practices to generate accurate survey data in a timely manner.
* Maintain survey equipment to a high standard and ensure equipment is kept within required calibration and adjustment parameters
* Produce Mine Plans for regulatory submissions (under the direction and supervision of the appointed Surveyor).
* Carry out all necessary surface set‐outs and pickups, ensuring precise mark‐ups of designs to meet production, development, and diamond drilling requirements.
* Deliver precise open pit surveying, maintain accurate and up‐to‐date mine survey records, and provide effective support to mine planning activities.
* Contribute to reporting, reconciliations, and workflow improvements that enhance operational efficiency and uphold safety standards.
* Collaborate with mine planning, geotechnical, and geology departments to ensure survey data aligns with design requirements and operational goals.
* Installation of necessary survey control for directional control of mining
* Assist in reviewing and improving survey procedures while ensuring statutory and operational compliance.
About You
* Possesses tertiary or diploma qualifications in Mine Surveying.
* Prior experience working as a Mine Surveyor in open pit environments across gold, iron ore, and various other commodities.
* Grade 2 Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate (highly desirable).
* Experience in UAV/drone surveying, along with CASA certification, is highly regarded.
* Excellent knowledge of the statutory requirements of the Western Australian Mining Act and Regulations, as well as the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels of the organisation.
* Proficient in the use of the MS Office suite, Pronto, INX suite, Deswik or similar platform.
* Hold a Class C Manual WA Driver's License.
