The DECYP will from time to time require the services of employees for specified fixed-term and relief positions in various skill areas and disciplines. Such appointments complement the existing permanent workforce.
Potential Vacancies:
1. School Health Nurse
Salary Range: $99,455 - 105,995 pro rata, per annum - Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award (S198) Grade 4
Essential Requirement: Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
2. School Nurse (Support School)
Salary Range: $99,455 - 105,995 pro rata, per annum - Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award (S198) Grade 4
Essential Requirement: Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.
Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment) is required.
Selection from the Register
When a vacancy occurs, the Registered Nurse School Nurse Program Fixed-term and Casual Employment Register will be examined to identify candidates who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, currency, and qualifications for the duties of the vacancy and who are available to work.
A merit-based selection process will be undertaken for suitable applicants, which may involve formal interviews.
