Kaizen Recruitment is exclusively supporting an established, purpose‐driven industry superannuation fund as they seek an experienced Tax Manager to lead end‐to‐end tax governance, compliance, reporting, and advisory activities across the Fund and Trustee entities.
This is a senior standalone role offering high visibility, strong autonomy, and the opportunity to influence tax strategy and governance in an APRA regulated environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Finance & Reporting, you will be accountable for ensuring timely, accurate, and well‐controlled tax outcomes across all statutory and regulatory obligations. The role spans income tax, BAS, IAS, GST, FBT, withholding tax, advising on complex investment tax matters, and playing a key role in tax governance, audit liaison, and regulatory engagement.
This role is well suited for a tax leader with either in‐house experience in a Superannuation fund, or someone looking to make their first move from a Big 4 accounting firm.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage preparation and lodgement of the trustee's annual tax return and associated schedules.
* Ensure lodgement of BAS and IAS for the Fund and Trustee.
* Manage preparation and lodgement of annual FBT returns.
* Reviewing and managing tax true ups within unit pricing processes, including understanding and explaining impacts to relevant stakeholders.
* Management of ATO Combined Assurance Reviews as needed.
* Devise and implement the Fund's approach to Division 296 requirements.
* Regular liaison with the firm's internal/external auditors.
* Review of changing tax legislation and updating the Fund's tax management policy and governance framework as required.
About You
* 10+ years' tax experience within superannuation, investments, or Professional Services, with exposure to APRA regulated superannuation funds.
* CA, CPA or CTA qualified.
* Proven experience interpreting complex tax legislation and building tax frameworks and processes.
* A strong ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and build strong relationships across the organisation.
