Senior Associate Quantity Surveyor/Estimator
Jacobs is seeking a Senior Associate Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our team. In this role, you'll provide strategic estimating leadership and key client engagement across either High Voltage Transmission/Substations and Renewables or Building Services (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing, MEP) projects. You'll have the freedom to work across multiple projects and sectors, delivering estimating excellence and client value. The role may also involve Project Estimate Manager responsibilities and client-facing engagement during projects and in ongoing strategic client relationships.
What you'll need
Australian Citizenship is preferred. You will be based in one of our major city offices (Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney or Perth). Ideally you will have a tertiary degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Project Management, and have experience in Quantity Surveying or First-Principles Estimating with a passion to deliver estimating excellence.
Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end estimating process on a project, directing the production of Quantity Surveying/Estimating deliverables.
* Be responsible for producing technical deliverables, applying industry experience autonomously with limited guidance.
* Ability to manage and deliver work across projects simultaneously.
* Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan, including verification and review of procedures.
* Identify and mitigate potential financial risks through proactive planning.
* Forecast and assess costs, timelines, quality parameters, and constructability factors.
* Participate in value management and risk workshops as a subject matter expert.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external project teams, as well as technical leaders, to plan, develop, deliver, and operate a range of multidisciplinary projects.
* Recommend changes to current or new directions, ensuring Jacobs is applying the latest technical developments.
* Mentor and assist in the development of junior QS/Estimators within your specialist discipline.
* During the bid phase of projects, be responsible for bid preparation and/or management, running a bid team or providing input to a larger bid team.
