Research Nurse Job Description
This position is open to a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about conducting research in dermatology.
About the Department of Dermatology
The department is the tertiary referral centre for South-Eastern Melbourne and rural Victoria, providing multiple outpatient clinics per week. Our unit manages severe cutaneous adverse reactions, inflammatory and autoimmune skin disease, and non-melanoma skin cancers.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct all aspects of clinical trial activity, including screening and recruitment of participants, efficiently organising patient visits and admissions, taking pathology samples, and other necessary investigations as per trial protocol.
* Manage participant databases and prepare relevant Ethics submissions and paperwork.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Highly developed computer-literacy and ability to work with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email software.
* Knowledge of research principles, methodologies, and processes.
* High level of reliability and professional conduct.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good knowledge of good clinical practice (GCP) and how a clinical trial study operates.
* Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills.
* Extensive experience in venepuncture.
