CMS is seeking a Portables and Passive Technician to join our growing team. Based in Melbourne, this role will see you responsible for the inspection and maintenance of portable and passive fire protection assets as per AS 1851, including;
Key Responsibilities
- Routine inspection and testing to AS1851 and/or the relevant OEM requirements on all portable fire equipment including but not limited to (restricted to unpumped systems in line with VBA restricted licencing requirements)
- Site auditing and reporting
- Completion of all paperwork such as job hazard analysis, safety observations, work orders, plant history, inspection reports, and check sheets as required by the work scope
- Working with other maintenance personnel to maintain the firefighting equipment and systems to agreed schedules, procedures, and standards
- Reviewing firefighting equipment and systems maintenance routines, work instructions and procedures and suggest changes to the content and/or systems if required
- Providing technical support as required for problem solving maintenance issues
- Ensure your own safety and health at work and that of your work mates
- Identify and report on continuous improvement ideas that can or may drive greater effectiveness or efficiency in the business
About you
- Proven industry experience servicing, repairing, maintaining and installing portable systems
- Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and work with multiple stakeholders
- Processes a sense of ownership and pride in their work
Qualifications
- Certificate II in Fire Protection – Inspection & Testing (desired)
- VBA Registration in restricted class / Unpumped systems
- FPAS Certificate of Competency (desired)
- Construction Industry White Card
- Valid C Class Driving Licence
