Motel Manager – Albury NSW
Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are working with a long established busy motel located in Albury NSW. The motel is a short stroll from the city centre making it ideal for both leisure and business travellers and offers comfortable and clean rooms, a pool, and pet-friendly stays all just steps from the Murray River.
The motel is now seeking an experienced and dedicated Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the establishment. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient staff supervision, and smooth business operations in line with hospitality standards and compliance requirements.
The role is full-time and ongoing, with a great salary package of $75k to $80k plus superannuation per annum is on the offer.
The duties and responsibilities of the position will include:
Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the motel, including guest services, reservations, housekeeping, room service, and other activities.
* Supervise and train staff to maintain high levels of service and professionalism.
* Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback to ensure a positive guest experience.
* Oversee financial transactions, including daily reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and other legal requirements such as liquor regulations.
* Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase occupancy and revenue.
* Monitor inventory and order supplies as required.
* Ensure compliance with relevant workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations through regular audits and staff training.
* Prepare budgets, manage costs, and ensure profitability.
* Communicate with external contractors, suppliers, and local tourism bodies.
* Maintain motel facilities to a high standard, including rooms, grounds, and common areas.
You should be able to demonstrate the following attributes and strengths to be considered:
* At least 1 or more years' of experience in a hospitality environment at supervisory or management levels.
* Appropriate relevant post-secondary qualifications to at least Diploma level or equivalent.
* Demonstrate a strong customer focus - possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal with and work with a diverse range of customers.
* Strong leadership and staff management skills.
* High level of organisation, time management, and attention to detail.
* Sound knowledge of booking/reservation systems and EFTPOS systems.
* Experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
* Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety and relevant compliance standards.
* Knowledge of local tourism industry and regional NSW hospitality trends.
* You must have unrestricted full time Australian working rights to be considered.
