About the role:
The Hospital Social Worker offers high level assistance to patients and their families with practical and emotional challenges relating to their illness, hospitalisation, and discharge planning. They provide support, information, and referrals, and may offer counselling and mediation services. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure our patients' needs are met.
About you:
* A degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification and member or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW);
* A minimum of one year's experience in Social Work with demonstrated entry level competencies, skills and knowledge in conducting assessments, case management and counselling in a hospital setting;
* Excellent oral and written communication skills;
* Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team;
* Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads.
