Remuneration : $30.66 Per Hour 12% Super Salary Packaging Employment Type : Permanent Part Time and Casual Opportunities Available Position Classification : Hospital Assist Grade 3 Hours Per Week : 24 Location: Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Requisition ID : REQ656598 Applications Close: Monday 4th May 2026 About the Role As a Wardsperson, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and safe operation of the perioperative environment, ensuring high standards of patient care, efficiency, and safety are maintained Patient Transport & Support – Safely transfer patients across wards, theatre, and recovery while maintaining dignity, comfort, and privacy, and assisting with manual handling in line with WHS guidelines Cleaning & Infection Control – Complete routine and terminal cleaning of theatre and clinical areas, supporting strict infection prevention standards and compliance requirements Theatre Support – Assist with theatre setup and turnaround, and support the movement of equipment, instruments, specimens, and consumables to ensure efficient list flow Equipment & Logistics – Maintain equipment readiness, assist with stock and waste management, and report faults or safety concerns promptly Team Contribution – Work collaboratively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary team, responding flexibly to changing priorities, including emergency and after-hours requirements. May be required to participate in shift work, on-call or weekend rosters depending on service demand. This role is essential in supporting theatre efficiency, patient flow, infection control, and overall safety within the perioperative setting.
