Our Journey:
Our Community Care Unit (CCU) in East Bentleigh is a 20 bed Psychosocial residential facility that provides a client focused recovery and rehabilitation program within a community setting. We provide specialist input, assessment and short to medium term therapeutic interventions/ case management to assist clients in their recovery journey with 24 hour clinical support, psychiatric health care and psychosocial rehabilitation in a residential setting.
We currently have an amazing career opportunity for an experienced Grade 2 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to work with us and gain further experience in mental health community. This is a full-time ongoing role working Monday to Friday only and will enable you to utilise your specialist knowledge, skills and experience, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
A Day in the Life:
The Community Care Unit (CCU) in East Bentleigh is a team of 29 across a multi-disciplinary team who provide services to people experiencing mental health illness between the ages of 18 and 64 who live in the Clayton/ Middle South area. At CCU, we provide clinical support, psychiatric health care, assessment and treatment in order to assist people with their recovery and rehabilitation goals.
As the Grade 2 Mental Health Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with inclusively with passionate occupational therapy and allied health staff to provide excellent, evidence-based care for patients and their families/carers across the program. This role is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality assessments and intervention for patients within a fast-paced acute/sub-acute setting.

About You:
With experience working in an Adult Mental Health setting and/or extensive experience in a relevant area of practice, you can demonstrate:
1. Well-developed oral and written communication skills
2. An ability to engage in reflective practice to support your specialist clinical care delivery
3. Implement clear communication and advocate for best care for the patient
4. Engage patients in the participation of their treatment journey
5. Acknowledge responsibility for own learning
6. Collaborate with others in the development of department resources and research pursuits
7. Uphold the Monash Health iCare values
You’ll demonstrate your well-developed understanding of and ability to navigate complex service systems including My Aged Care, Transition Care Program, Statewide Equipment Program, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Mental Health and the recovery model is essential to support your performance in this role.
What you need:
8. Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or relevant equivalent degree
9. Current AHPRA registration
10. Current Driver’s Licence
