**Role Summary**:
- **Position**: Grade 7-12 English Tutor
- **Location**: 1/35 Padstow Parade
- **Type**: Casual
- **Wage**: $25/hr - $28/hr
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for students in grades 7-12 in English.
- Follow the provided lesson plans and teaching materials to meet individual student needs.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Help students prepare for tests, exams, and assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
- Work and collaborate in a team setting to help solve problems and provide the best academic outcomes for students.
- Demonstrate commitment to both students and the team by connecting with them and fostering a supportive environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Experience in tutoring or teaching English grade 7-12 students is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A growth mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or the ability to obtain one.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekday evenings from 4-8pm and Saturdays.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Band 5/6 in Advanced English (2U).
- Experience teaching in a one-on-one setting or group setting (preferable).
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in teaching strategies.
