**About Regis**
At Regis, our purpose is to provide personalised and respectful care that embraces the experience of ageing. We fulfil this purpose everyday through our workforce of over 9,000 dedicated, hardworking, kind and compassionate people across our aged care homes, day therapy and day respite centres and retirement villages.
We are a national leader in the aged care sector and have been proudly providing high-quality care and services to older Australians for nearly 30 years. With strong clinical and quality governance, and a focus on integrated care, Regis strives every day for our residents and clients to live well and realise their wellbeing goals.
**About the role**
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to support us across our 3 homes at our Sandgate community as well as our Caboolture home at the Esprit Café. The successful applicant will spend 3 hours per fortnight at each home planning and facilitating group and individual sessions.
The Esprit Café invites people into a warm and inviting setting in an aged care home to have a cup of coffee. The program is designed to help people meet with others going through a similar situation and find support through sharing their major moments in their life. The aim is to provide a supportive, independently facilitated environment to help residents, families and broader community members talk about major moments in their life. This can include moving into aged care, dealing with confronting news, coming to terms with dying and how to cope once a loved one has passed away.
As a free service the café is open to residents, their family and interested friends, mediated by independent social workers in a café like environment created by our dedicated Regis lifestyle teams.
**The successful applicant will have;**
- Degree or Diploma in social work, psychology or other related qualification.
- Sound understanding of the theory and practice of working with bereavement.
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues underpinning bereavement
- Ability to undertake assessments and respond to risk issues in order to address the safety and wellbeing of participants
